An Avant-Garde poem to show that power in society is sheer illusion.

The Façade of Power

Where there is order,

There is power.

Still destructions' in its wake.

Rebellions' an emotion,

Disarray, the costs at stake. 

Is perfection the illusion? 

Meant to kept the castes at bay? 

Or the system slowly dying,

Fading off to wretched grey. 

How long can stone hold,

If only to make mold. 

Corruption now a scheme, 

Forming rips at the seems. 

The rule should dismantle,

Start anew the preamble!

Venal snakes build up the system.

The rats race as claimed the victim.

Rocks shall fall should they escape.

With the guiding hope, 

Delusion breaks.

This speaks so true of almost every justice system. Where there is order, there is always a set hierarchy of power where the powerful dictate the laws and rules that the mice/humans must follow. Sometimes the laws aren't fair and we have to use the courts as we believe we are victims as a result of this unfair law. This can cause corruption as well. And I agree, some rules are meant to be broken, create newer, more inclusive ones. Truthful and thought provoking write. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for taking the time to read it, and I appreciate your wonderful review. I definitely agree that sometimes, rules can be necessary to break, and individuals should not have to feel as though a rat in a race, or a cog in the machine. Freedom should be truly free. There are certainly boundaries and morals to be taken into consideration with freedom. However, ultimately, we should not feel like victims to the imposed force of laws, and create new ones.

That is so true, the laws are here for our protection, not to pose a threat to us.
