Just the One

I have that one person
that I am mean to,
though I may be kind to all others.

I have that one person
that I cut down over and over,
never letting her stand straight up.

That one person shakes,
trying to get away from me,
trying to get me to leave.

That one person rips it all away,
trying to force me to run,
trying to burn me out.

I have that one person
who wants me gone,
but sadly, I can never leave her.

That one person is me.
