Definition of Summer

Definition of Summer

A Poem by poetic-raven2012

Summer’s havin’ more
mosquito bites than skin,
an’ stayin’ out ‘til late night.
Guitar Hero battles in the
early mornin’ and bike
rides t’ the beach in
the rain.

Summer’s never havin’ a
worry in the world
an’ roaming free ‘til your stomach starts complainin’.
Barefoot races out in
the court an’ games a’
Red Light, Green Light
at high midnight.

Summer’s leanin’ over the
Air Conditionin’ an’ sighin’ in relief,
but still goin’ back out again.
Sittin’ in the tennis courts
watchin’ the stars with
a case a’ freezie pops
on the side.

Summer’s rough hands from
beach sands an’
endlessly dirty feet.
Watchin’ the sunset from
the grassy field by the water with
a sibling on each side an’ a smile
on the way.

LOL. Sorry if the cut-off letters bother you. It was a Creative Writing Assignment to write somethign exactly how we talk, and, face it - I have a slight southern lilt, so...yes. That's me talking.

This was wonderfully expressed.
That is all I can say.
I have no questions or concerns...Just a review and a comment.

I thought that leaving off letters to make it seem like you were talking was a nice touch.
Very nicely written.
Well done :]
