Shallow Called

Shallow Called

A Poem by poetic-raven2012

Shallow called the puddle to the pool
Without ever taking a dive,
Shallow called the inch to the yard
Without ever having stretched.
Shallow called you to me
Without ever having looked behind
These glass reflectant eyes of green
With intent to see my soul.
Shallow called you to yourself
As you said it to me.

Author's Note

poetic-raven2012
So we're doing Annie as our spring musical, and I had to write something to get "Easy Street" out of my head.
Lily: Thee Oliver Warbucks,The millionaire?
Hannigan: No, the billionaire, you dumb hoe...tel.

(Gahhhhhhhh I keep hearing Lily St. Regis in my head....)
