Direct Lighting

Direct Lighting

A Poem by poetic-raven2012

The lights
are turned off, and
the big lamps on
and we are told to
draw paper on paper,
but I am trapped;
mesmerized,
captivated,
ensnared
by the shadows
that play all across
the room.
Maybe I am just
juvenile,
but I love how
with every movement,
the walls change.
The mood,
tone,
feeling,
aura,
is in a constanty shifting state.
Maybe for this
one time only,
it is okay
for me to be
juvenile.

Author's Note

poetic-raven2012
I did this in Art class. We had to build a paper sculpture of a word (mine was 'equity'), then put it under direct lighting and draw it in charcoal.
(Oh, and as far as the whole juvenile thing goes, I am the youngest person in my 1700 person high school, and everyone expects me to be immature as hell, so I kind of have to be super careful of what I'm doing all of the time, especially since I'm in muti-level classes.
