Clouds

Clouds

A Poem by poetic-raven2012

Storms and clouds and wind move in,
Leaves and dust and papers spin.

Thunder comes by with a trembling sound,
Lightning bears down and hits the ground.

Kids sit out and watch the show,
And the wind blows and blows,

Afer many an effort the rain comes forth,
Hitting the ground with an incredible force.

Hours and minutes pass,
The rain still comes as with the lightning's flash.

After a time, I look out again,
Finally the rain has come to an end,

The stars and sky and trees show,
But the ground continues to flow.

I look at the shining moon, and I swear it winks,
As if to say, "The Earth needed a drink."

Author's Note

I wrote this while I was in 7th grade and I didn't change anything when I typed it up. So if it's strange...yeah. And thoughts on the rhyming couplets?

I liked the couplets, always makes the flow and keeps it smooth. Pretty good for 7th grade, imo. Good piece!
