Inspiration Is My Savior

"Inspiration is my savior."
Says the pen to the paper
As she scripts her life away.

 

"Steal their minds like a crook."
Says the paper to the book
As she slowly comes into formation.

 

"From my pages don't deter."
Says the book to the publisher
As she is finally put into print.

 

"Finally in publication."
Says the writer to her creation
As she cracks open the fresh page and starts to read.

Author's Note

Written during a Colophon (our school Art/Lit mag) meeting. It was an assignment to use personification, where the objects talk.
This is one of my personal favorites of my own work, and I think it's some of my best.
