Tethered

 

The words pour from you,
and sometimes I
feel like you are my only tether
to the ground.

When my mind, body, or both meet pain,
you are there for me,
when no one else may even be aware.

Few get let inside of me,
even fewer stay long.
Only one got my trust too…
you.

And I think your words are saving me,
maybe the knowledge that you care is keeping me functioning.
Because I know that if I stopped,
I'd be letting at least you down.

And every time I'm upset, and I begin to float away,
 you pull me down.

My tether,
you’ve become upset,
and you've come to me;
so damn it,  I'll be your tether too.

I love it! Really good, honest, loving friendship is difficult to find. It's awesome to have someone in our life that keeps us grounded, and real! Very well expressed, and creative!
