Poisonous WordsA Poem by Shelley WilliamsPoisonous
Words Speaking
words that are mean shows
that evil has a tongue. Everywhere
there is hatred it
is passed on to the young. How
you choose to treat another shows
the person that you are. Anger
and hatred can harm when
bad feelings go too far. Poisonous
are nasty rumors that
are there to circulate. It's
never good for anyone when
some speak to retaliate. Like
the poison that we speak that
leads up to a fight. Forgive
that you save many from
the darkness within sight. Make
room for the peacemaker the
one person that shows love. It
only takes one good example to
calm an angry worded shove. There
is no room for blame, the
immature will point a finger. "He
says, She says, Who says that?" can
only make the problem linger. Poisonous
words, a cold heart open
to the lies inside our head. You
will feel better about yourself if
you use nice words instead. © 2012 Shelley Williams |
