A PRAYER FOR POLICE
by Rev.Douglas R Rose Our Father, which art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy Name Protect today all our Police and law-enforcement officers who daily offer their lives To both protect and serve citizens of America. They are our heroic Paladins of Peace. Thy Will be doe on earth as it is in Heaven Grant them today your exact pound of protection That they may spread Peace and Justice throughout this land Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. We refuse to hate and make the choice to Love others with your love. Lead us not into temptation--of Racism and prejudice, but deliver us from the evils of selfishness, entitlement and judgment Help us dare to be vigilant and prayerfully use the great golden Rule of loving others As we love ourselves--proving ALL LIVES MATTER to God "Tis not the color of our skin, but the Sin that lies within us that remains our biggest problem. No loaded weapon can bring lasting Peace in this chaotic world of hate--only you can do that O Lord. "Our body they may kill, but your Truth abideth still---" Shield and protect our Police by day and night we beseech Thee. You, O God, are our Mighty Fortress and High Tower of Strength---our Bulwark never failing. today we ask not what you can do for us but what can we do to help you bring about lasting harmony among us all. "Crown our good with Brotherhood from Sea to shining sea." We will not feata--for in you, FAther God---there is limitless Victory. For Thine is the Kingdom, and the Power, and the Flory forever and ever Amen 2016 by DRR Member Academy of American Poets Texas State Historical Association
