SACROSANCT MEMORIESA Poem by poetdougWe all have Memories---some ill---like 9 1 1, but others that are good worth revisiting. I think Memories are more than 'ghosts' of days gone by; I sense that they want to be of value to us daily.
Memories are sacred and holy
We must treasure them well; They are our eternal holy ground Wholesome memories are our Holy Grail. Memories are private and precious Placed there scrumptiously by God; They connect our past to our present -----As we trod life's earthly sod. Good memories are sacrosanct sacraments Like rarest white roses that shall never fade; Reminders of faithful friends and loved ones -----Memories, whose dues have been paid. Although physical forms positively change Our spirit is awesomely eternal--- Memories connect us with people and places ---Making them part of the sublimely supernal. Memory is a storehouse of golden treasures We unlock this sacred door by prayer; Memories are channels of pure inspiration ----In sacrosanct stillness we meditate there. 2013 by DRR Member Academy of American Poets
