SUNDAY MORNING COMING DOWNA Poem by poetdougI based this on the famous Johnny Cash song by the same title but staged it on a Beach Scene where we were staying in a vacation condo setting.
Daybreak dawning on the beach
On sifting sands of golden brown; Golden sunrise meets the lazy sky ---Sunday Morning Coming Down. The beach is empty---all forlorn Not a single tan swimmer in sight; Silver Seagulls gather one by one ---Wing tips dazzled by morning light. Schools of fish become the Choir Dolphins sing as in ancient lore; The organic organ is the ocean's roar --=While waves start arriving on shore. The whole sea becomes our Sanctuary The long sacred altar our cathedral sky; We hold sea shells up to yearning ears -----And hear voices from up on high. There's nothing quite like a Sunday beach Bathed in Mother Nature's surround sound Welcome---- come and worship our Creator ------Sunday Morning's Coming Down. 2013 by DRR
