Slurp a cup of courage for life's somber sorrows

 He always His strong shoulder shares---

  Curse not the darkness---but Light a Candle

----You'll see Him still standing there.

You can slumber in Peace---for He stays awake

 Heavy burdens He'll generously help you bear--

  Curse not dire darkness--but Light a Candle

----Peace and Protection await you there.

Stay strong and of recurring Courage

 Live life largely---if you now would dare

  Curse not the darkness---but Light a Candle

----In the shadows, God is standing there!

You must see the light in order to overwhelm the darkness... this one has a resounding voice in the lines... I can hear the verse calling out as a reader in this one... the repeating line:

Curse not dire darkness--but Light a Candle
----Peace and Protection await you there.

We may all light a candle and feel secure in the light of His everlasting love - even in the darkest hours of life! I have lit many candles, visible and those unseen to keep the overwhelming warmth of the promises of God shining in my life!! "Let your light shine....this little light of mine........yes, I'm gonna let my light shine"
