528 + Infinity

A Poem by Shara Faskowitz

If you listen to the wind

you'll hear whispers,

the grind of roller skates,

a flap of sheets on the line,

a careless singsong of girls

will vanish in one creak

of a screen door.

I had to read it a few times to see why you phrased it the way you did...it does draw you back to the second verse over and over and what appears awkward holds the clue.
I didn't like it the first two reads, now I do
: )

Nice work as always shemeh

I love the moment you capture here--very haiku-like, and I've always adored brevity, conciseness.
No idea what the title refers to... perhaps you mean it in regards to the timeless essence of this? That's what it made me think of.

Lovely poem, thank you.

Great abstraction in this piece. It holds itself quite distant by the title and the overall brevity and I hope there are other pieces to the puzzle. But if not, the scene and it's atmosphere are very well set and the snapshot reads like a cool breeze.
