Rose, Thy Are

Rose, Thy Are

A Poem by poetcheel

The need, and desires by all human-kind

Beauty among all, she possessed.

Such beauty came with a toxicity,
only she could manage.

Seek and dare to try it out
to find yourself with a dreadful surprise

A range of distance and precaution--
by her fellow admirers

Knowing the dangers inside of the beauty she possessed.

Choosing it for a women’s image
Something worth having--worth fighting for

She’s more than they take her for

Black unknown spots defined her tragedy and past life
--While her redness demanded a new beginning, everything anew.

that woman, was dangerous and beautiful

Starting to bloom and grow like she was destined to do
