TimeA Poem by poetbunnyWhen I first started dating my boyfriend I noticed I always heard the ticking of clocks- his watch, clocks at his house, etc. All that ticking inspired me to write this love poem.Every time I’m with you I hear the ticking of the clock, Each second passes reminds me that time is too precious to wait for it to stop. So I take you by the hand to keep this feeling going, Kiss you on the lips and time feels like it’s slowing. These moments that make us and shape us, take our love and create “you and I,” they contain us. I used to waste time but now I give all of mine just to be in your arms. Like a drug I’m addicted to you, Flying high on your charm and your “live life to the fullest attitude.” Every day we spend together I fall more in love with you, It’s true I never wondered what a life inside your world could be like, But I’m not restless or counting moments, minutes, hours or days- I’m only counting the times I make you smile or hear you laugh, Knowing that I’ll fall asleep with that ticking clock and your heartbeat on repeat, Carrying me away tonight to dream of this lover of mine. © 2012 poetbunnyAuthor's Note
