Good TimesA Poem by poetbunnyA good girl's first and last experience with a "bad boy." Some things have to be learned the hard way I suppose!“We had some good times,” you said With one shaky breath And stony, cold tone that tells of your regret. Your words are hollow I can’t follow you or trace the melancholy steps you take I see now the superficial high you chased. A body is just a body… But you don’t know my mind, The only thoughts you had are how my lips tasted. Some regrets you can’t erase There are boundaries I crossed for smiles that were fake. But your words are poison I stand here affected as you spit that venom It absorbs into my skin, my heart and head until it’s all seeped in. Like a shadow it stalks me, Mimics its way to the path I walk It winds around your tongue as you talk- But you, you are just an impression of success, masking empty Black Velvet bottles. With the next swallow, a pledge to perfection Hiding a heart and soul that is hollow. I won’t be caught up in your sorrow There’s no future in your love. Our time was only borrowed. © 2012 poetbunnyAuthor's Note
