Dissolution

Dissolution

A Poem by poetbunny
"

Realizing that the dreams that I once had as a young adult fade away into the harsh monotonous reality of adulthood.

"

My mind will go numb

I’ll lay to rest the knowledge my brain and heart once possessed.

Regress to a more simple state of consciousness

Not ask questions,

Instead, forget that once I knew more, felt more

Wondered why and set out searching for my life’s desire.

I’ll become hollow clay that never hardens,

Molded and shaped to shoulder the burdens I might carry.

My days spent wary of a future in which I simply exist,

Where love and life are passionless

Lungs breathe and heart beat only by instinct.

The only reality will be the dreams I keep in my sleep,

Awake my own eyes have deceived me,

Dissolution without resolution

Mistaking my belief that life could have more meaning

Beyond day dreaming.

I like the feelings and ideas behind all of this :¬) the analogy of the clay is good, really good!
