And He Is Like FireA Poem by Madeleine CelesteWhen you read Pinterest Based Writing prompts for too long you think you're a poet and then you make stuff like this
It is captivating,
This source of sheer light and warmth, A thing almost completely of nature that Is everything It is tranquil sometimes, Quiet and brilliant when it first fills a darkened place Recognized, respected and awed It has a million moments of ignition That define it in the eyes of people Some know it as the unknown, the impossible, the fierce And all-consuming of its obstacles Some are fond of the flame that flickers softly The gentle teardrop of light that you can run a finger or a cheek by And know its warmth and brightness Seeing it warm a blush onto your skin without its awareness It is known but forgotten at times That the company of a flame can be the same That sets off irrevocable change Just as brilliant and bright and untouched And those who fear it and its unknown cannot know How indescribable it is to be touched by it How it sears into you and lasts, lasts with a permanence That lingers on the skin even longer than you prolong its memory And he is like fire.
