rubbed the wrong way

rubbed the wrong way

A Poem by Gin Tsubasa
"

we were given an assignment in my poetry class with that, the title, as a "creative cliche." so this is the product of it.

"

It’s like being thrown from a car

going a-hundred-sixteen

down the parkway –

the way that gravel grits and grates

and pulls away an innocent layer or two –

the ones she began to unravel.

While that “bag of bones” formerly

known as your girlfriend come to

a resting point, you check your

rearview mirror, uncontrollably

accelerating down the relationship

highway – hindsight is 20/20.

I liked this one. It was raw and felt like a punch to the gut, which im sure was the desired effect.
