Crack (a creative cliche)

Crack (a creative cliche)

A Poem by Gin Tsubasa
"

A writing assignment from my poetry class to use a "creative" cliche and make a good poem. :)

"

Your lips, your smell –

everything, like my skin,

that had bared your

mark – everything that

breathed your name

was sacred. I placed

you high atop a pedestal

for nine broken months–

slowly your perfection

began to crack but I

didn’t dare to taste the

darkness beneath. After

all, you were my everything–

the shining star, every single

pretty cliché. Then came

the morning I found your

other

a different smile kissing your mouth.

My lips quivered under the

grasp of reality – your good

life hasn’t been built for me.

THis had potential, but I feel you could have done more. I was left feeling that this piece wasn't complete.
