There are times when you cannot see yourself.

You are so consumed by caring for others,

You forget about the needs you have.

You place so much importance on the happiness of friends,

You forget the happiness within.

You choose take on the worries of the world,

Rather than addressing the troubles you face.

This is part of you I know,

But there is more of you I wish to show you.

The you that is caring deserves to be cared for,

The you that holds high the happiness of friends is just as important,

The you that is troubled has the right to address your own worries,

The you that loves is worthy of being loved.

All that I ask is that you let me care for you,

All that I ask is that you accept some measure of happiness,

All that I ask is that you allow me to help with your troubles,

All that I ask is that you permit me to love you.

These things I do with no expectation of a measure in return,

But because I love you.
