Sweet Embrace

The world but tries to keep us apart,

Pulling on us in many dimensions.

There is little time for affairs of the heart,

When the world demands so much attention.

We battle and struggle,

To capture some time,

To be in each other's arms.

Holding each other,

As tight as we can,

We ward off the world's demands.

I look into your eyes,

And I see a universe of wonder,

A sparkle that tells the deepness of our love.

You look into my eyes,

And see the truth of my devotion,

A passion needing to touch deep into your soul.

These moments though are fleeting,

Their meaning so profound,

They fill our minds with joy.

These few words pale in their attempt,

To tell the meaning, love, and joy

We find in sweet embrace.
