Stages of Our Love

Your body moves within my mind,

In ways that cause my soul to weep.

Every inch of you drives the deepest desire,

That I can realize.

Beyond our earthly bodies,

I seek to know your soul,

And hold it ever near to me,

In fullest mind's embrace.

I think of every act,

That can cause you to be mine,

Forsaking all others,

Belonging only onto to me.

My joy comes truly, only,

From giving onto you,

The pleasures that become you,

And make my heart to sing.

We take within each others arms,

Our missing soul's companion.

And in the deepness of the night,

Our passion fills all voids.

We share with each other,

The secrets of the soul,

The strengths and fears,

That only lovers share.

We will love each other deeply,

Through worst and best of times,

And in this knowing we shall be,

Complete within our love.

Very beautiful. I enjoyed reading this poem a lot. I'm not the biggest fan of your last sentence in your second to last stanza, "That only lovers share." I think you can do better then that and that it didn't fit well within your very well written verse. I think you really brought out your poetic skills and intentions and think that you are one magnificent writer.

i love this in its entirety, but i had to laugh at your five stages of love message because i never bothered to break it down... i always just thought of it in terms of "oh s**t, i just can't get enough of her, no matter what i do". of course you have made things quite a bit more relaxed and civilized (though your projections of love never lose their intensity). this is great, Patrick.
