An Ode to the Spirit

An Ode to the Spirit

A Poem by PoemsbyPatrick
"

Love, not hope, is what helps us live. Truth, not faith, is what sets us free. We are already in the kingdom. Eternity is now. - Andre Comte-Sponville

"
Calm the mind and open the soul,
Open to the place of being.
Find the faith that becomes reality,
Transformed from the hope for what might be,
To the love of what is.
All that is,
The brightest and the darkest,
Of what we are,
And wonder at the miracle of the reality of life.
Realization that we seek not perfection,
But the perfect existence of being.
Being in the moment,
With all that we love,
And all that love us.
There, in the place of being,
The spirit soars,
With the final attainment of truth,
That all that is in nature,
The universe and beyond,
Is part of us and we in part of it.
Love and truth thus attained,
Becomes our souls content.
The achievement takes a life,
A life's work well spent.

But the perfect existence of being.
Being in the moment,
With all that we love,
And all that love us.
There, in the place of being,
The spirit soars,

Love.. it's what we all crave and reject at the same time. Yet it is the only way to completeness and truth. Amazing piece!

A beautiful and powerful poem my Poet friend. I hope love can win with so much confusion and hate. I believe we must be kind and hope other follow our example.

A life's work well spent."
Thank you for the excellent poem.
