![]() Vampires GatherA Poem by PoemsbyPatrick
The vampires gather to take their sustenance from my soul.
It is not the weak or faint of heart they seek. They are unwaveringly drawn to the strong of spirit, And those that are the most capable in nature. They seek not to mortally wound, For that would end their feast. Instead they seek to drain such life, As only make you weak. With every battle that I win, I feel that I should be, A step that closer to the end, Of the war these vampires bring. But every battle brings anew, A coven not foreseen. To drain my life and happiness, My will to pick so clean. I struggle to withstand the fray, To gather all my strength, And live to fight another day, With battles so intense. Their numbers only multiply, My strength is slowly drained, If I could but find someone, Whose friendship would sustain. My hope would then be founded, My strength would be renewed. Are there other warriors? Perhaps, my friend, that's you.
