Left SideA Poem by PoemsbyPatrick
I went for bike ride today.
The coolness of the air hinting to the coming days of fall. My mind still swimming from my morning regimen of caffeine, I head for the path along the stream. A new direction I would take today, Determined to explore beyond my previous boundaries. The gentle rolling of the hills, Provided both enjoyment and challenges. Left side, I call out as passing people by. Left side, I would hear as someone passed by me. Left side, Careful not to crowd. Left side, Provide the safety warning for all. Left side, Passing people walking. Left side, Passing people running. Left side, Passing men sweating. Left side, Passing women glowing. Left side, Passing friends talking. Left side, Brief intrusions into private conversations. Left side, All along I wish them to be gone. Left side, To ride free as I once did. Left side, The rush of wind against my face. Left side, The thrill of speed beneath me. Left side, The pounding of my heart. Left side, People dressed to express. Left side, People dressed to impress. Left side, People walking dogs. Left side, Dogs walking people. Left side, Hills to be climbed. Left side, The exhilaration of acceleration. Left side, My heart leaps out of my chest. Left side, I am young again. Left side, Riding freely on my bike. Left side, But here there are constraints. Left side, Blind corners. Left side, Crowded path. Left side, People around me everywhere. Left side, Not a single one as beautiful as you. Left side, My mind goes back. Left side, My hand against your thigh. Left side, My lips against your breast. Left side, Hills of ecstasy to climb. Left side, The exhilaration of acceleration. Left side, My heart leaps out of my chest. Left side, I am young again. I went for bike ride today. The coolness of the air hinting to the coming days of fall. My mind still swimming with the thoughts of you. © 2012 PoemsbyPatrick |
