Zebra in the wildA Poem by MPetersPoems&shortstoriesabout a zebraZebra
in the wild I
am one of a kind Four
legged Black
and white We
move together and not easy to find Only
in the wild In
the untamed Where
we travel many miles In
grass and trees untouched There
behind the brush Some
resting some Chewing
grass Will
you find us The
famed Zebra There
is none with stripes like us We
look alike But
I have a darker Patch
than my two Brothers
and cousins 2
years old now The
forest has been my home All
that I know Nature,
birds, trees Flowers
that blossom I
am part of the nature Today
we travel for food Tomorrow
for the river, I like the river The
water on my back makes me quiver Today
is tomorrow And
I am neck deep in The
rushing stream A
hippo lifts its head And
wiggles its ears I
can see you I
can see you too I say in Defiance,Splash!
A crocodile draws itself into the water bed Skreep!!
At a distance Birds
fly out of the forest trees My
sharp eyes see a snake its
cought a bird Life
in the forest in The
wild is, a life of prey The
hunted is a hunter And
the hunter is hunted But
meanwhile The
water feels good Keeps
me in the mood Soon
I chew some water weeds And
grass leaves . this keep me healthy and strong The
sun is up ahead, warm Cousin
jumps suddenly We
are warned, a lion lurks near A
lion we fear run At
the hill, where the Grass
is evergreen and lash, we lay
Dusk
darkness, stars gaze down We
gaze up We
count the stars We
see their sign Some
are like a Zebra Some
like libra The
zodiac libra Tomorrow
is tomorrow We
do what we like We
are freee We
have all the frost and wild to be….
