Springtime

Springtime

A Poem by Tim

Sun warming
Snow melting
Temps rising
Coats shedding

Bats swinging
Balls throwing
Kids running
Children laughing

Nymphs hatching
Trout rising
Lines casting
Creels filling

Birds singing
Butterflies fluttering
Frogs croaking
Tadpoles swimming

Flowers blooming
Shrubs flowering
Trees leafing
Sap running

Bees pollinating
Mosquitoes buzzing
Fleas biting
Dogs scratching

Turkeys strutting
Fawns nuzzling
Rabbits hopping
Kits wrestling

Cows calving
Ewes lambing
Chicks hatching
Piglets squealing

Manure spreading
Tractors plowing
Farmers planting
Seeds sprouting

Girls smiling
Boys blushing
Hands holding
Kisses landing

Spring’s here
Summer’s near

This really put a smile on my face. It was warming and sweet. I enjoyed this more than I can say.
Great write!

I enjoyed it. Brilliant in it's simple nature. A reminder that life is beautiful and miraculous with out a ton of fluffy language. Sometimes the poetry is simply observing what is, and sharing it with those too wrapped up in personal quests to see it for themselves. Well done!

Cheers!

This is a poem of present participles with 'ings' ringing (one you missed out!). It is also a paean to Spring in all its glory, and how the short two word lines are able to hit home with each glory of the season - no wasted words here. Each one plumb on the target. Each one also says "Enjoy it Now!" - they are present participles, 'today words'. You break the mould - the pattern - only at the break of the season, though still retaining the present tense:

"Spring's here
Summer's near"

Summer becomes the present but lives on the joys of Spring

A poem of the now, the today, life, joy and nature! How did you guess that I like it?
