Rising upA Poem by Tyler James MathiesonSomething that came to me at work
I will take this bitter cup from my lips and pour it on the ground
I listen for the coming footsteps and that rushing sound I refuse to sit and let myself be poisoned by the past And after all this time these feelings still come up so fast I drain the cup of all its rotten contents and fall down meek A single tear finds its path down my lonely cheek I feel a boiling rising up from inside of me It makes me shake and convulse; I cannot see You once were a part of me that I cannot deny But rather than you control me, I would rather die © 2012 Tyler James MathiesonAuthor's Note
