My pathA Poem by Tyler James MathiesonWrote for a friend
Stumbling down this street alone
I wonder what has brought me here The skies ease open with a moan I find my heart gripped in fear The rain drops start falling slow at first And then it starts to pour I'm filled with a mighty thirst The rain won't do, I need more The promise of a happy life Is that too much to ask? The promise of no more strife No more need for this mask I used to think I had it all And then came crashing down But what did I really have It was just a tin crown The clouds roll out and the rain has stopped The path is clear ahead This new found life I must adopt These old chains I will shed Though I don't know where I'm going And I don't know what I'll do I think it's great not knowing As long as I will be with you © 2012 Tyler James Mathieson |
