Onward

Free verse

I could take the easy route
I just fall into a selfish rhythm
Just lay down and remain here
That would require no effort
That would be "understandable"
It is expected I give up
But onward I must press
I must fight this spirit of pity
I must do more than is expected
To build something of worth
To create beauty from pain
