A Sunny Morning

A Sunny Morning

A Poem by yourhaircutman

The morning sun renewed me today, gave

me a new sense of purpose. It gave back to

me what I was missing and made me feel whole

for the first time in years. The light beaming

through my windows, filling my house, filling

me with optimism, lets me know that there

are better days ahead.

There is a light in even the darkest of places,

we just need to be sure that we aren't the ones

blocking it from ridding the darkness.

Stop shooting yourself in the kneecaps

and stand the f**k up.

I love how this read like a note to self, a diary entry with a kick a*s ending, it leaves a message to really wake us up. The way you put the self as the obstacle to getting what we want or where we need to get to, that is the crux and wisdom of your words.
