I Found YouA Poem by yourhaircutmanThis is about a girl who broke my heart. In a crowded room with blaring music, I found you. We met, we talked, we danced. I smiled.
In a field with a glowing sun, I found you. We laughed, we joked, we flirted. I couldn't help but smile.
In a small, cluttered room, with an unfinished puzzle, I found you. We sat awkwardly, silently, knowingly. I still smiled.
On the internet, in a message, I found you. We conversed, opened up, and revealed our deepest feelings. I didn't want to, but I smiled.
On a swing, legs to the sky, I found you. We swung, we blushed, we held hands. My smile stretched from ear to ear.
Outside of my house, in a car, I found you. You wouldn't leave until I told you where to drive to. I couldn't stop smiling.
Blanketed by cold air, walking by the river, I found you. We shivered, shook, and chattered. I forced out a smile.
In the arms of another man, I found you. You seemed happy and I seemed to not exist. I didn't smile, not in the slightest bit.
On my mind, in my thoughts, taking over my dreams, I found you. I always manage to find you. But that's the problem.
Why didn't you ever find me? © 2012 yourhaircutman |
