Night SpeakA Poem by yourhaircutmanIt's at night when I realize that I truly have nobody.I lay in the dark and stare into the never-ending nighttime. Although it seems empty it also seems full: full of wonder, full of mystery. Why is it that we're all so scared of the unknown when we could be fascinated by it? We never know what is coming next, where we're going from here. We need to learn to run to it rather than away.
I lay in the dark and wonder why I turned out this way: why does everyday contain sadness and disappointment? It's like my life permanently scheduled time each day for me to stumble and be taken away by guilt like a child swept out to sea. No matter how hard we fight it, we can't help but let the current take us away.
Ironically water makes me calm but I'm submerged in darkness, not the sea, and as far as I can see I'm completely alone. © 2012 yourhaircutman |
