When it Storms

When it Storms

A Poem by Audrey writes things

The cold air touches my face
And wraps around me
Like a hug from an old friend
I can smell the coming rain
Its familiar scent comforts me

And when it finally shows its face
With a
Drip
Drop
Plop
I dare not leave now

The perfect weather for my sweater
I heat the sky roar
As its electric whip cracks
And the wind caresses me again

The leaves on the trees or dancing
Or maybe shaking with fear
They say the sky is crying
But why?
What does the sky have to be sad about?

With everyone constantly admiring her beauty
Her ever-changing allure
The sky is truly lucky

The stars tickle her face
And the sun and the moon watch over her
As loving parents do
When she can make herself anyone's favorite color

But perhaps
Everyone misconstrued the rain
Maybe the sky only cries
With tears of joy

I'm Audrey and I like to write. I play cello, and I'm a bit pretentious. I hope my works are a bit more interesting than I am more..
