voidA Poem by plainmeFeel the lightness of your feet Slowly lifting you to sleep Sultry nights and days of chills Take a hit and flush the pills Is it sleep or a nightly mare? You will see a purplish flare So high and bright in the nighttime sky Your light tipped feet will make you fly Slowly sucked into the core Like your mask into your pore You were once a man, a man so real But what is left is the urge to feel Find yourself lost and found Scream all you want, you’re just a hound You’re trapped in the vacuum, your numb brain Your heart, your lungs, they feel the pain Breathe all you want, the toxins stay Doesn’t matter if you find another way Corrode slowly and change to rust All you wish is to quench your lust But no, you’re doomed, just like we all To walk the earth, one lifelong hall Escape, no, windows or doors are not around You need to make the best of what you’ve found Call it hell, filled with terror We make our
own, we’re our own bearer Open your
eyes and clean the pus You still
have the chance to catch the bus But if you fall asleep and wake at morrow Uncork the bottle and drink the sorrow If you flush it down with a pill or two You’ll find each morning; you’ll just be you © 2014 plainmeFeatured Review
