My True Love's Haunting

My True Love's Haunting

A Poem by p.kuhl
"

a ghost is in love with me

"
They call it Occam's razor
so,
simply put

there is no way I am
a ghost.
You are my life review

and you cannot leave me
alone

in this
          wretched place,
while I find myself
chained in silence

in your barred
          séance.
This is no spirit theatre,
only a room painted with place memory
-only this house knows anything at all
I know even less than you

          I know how to cook
I know that I once died
I know I can only feel like a woman when
you are around,

so (please)

do not leave.
I will seal the exits
and sprinkle sand on your eyelids
so the trek home seems
daunting.
Call it paranormal
tell yourself it's just the wind
this is my gift
my true love's haunting.
