Was it not for loveA Poem by Poetic Justicewhat can I say, time healsWas it not for love, that when he took my hand Time held its breath As if the world slowed while our fingers entwined There we lived our lives in that blink of what seemed like eternity making plans, making love, making a home, a family, a life, dreams became my truth, my reality there we stayed until time exhaled and was it not for love, that when he turned and walked away Time would again hold its breath And the eternity I so longed for would become my curse I would have died a million times in that indescribable pain These eyes would have blackened with the chaos in my heart Nightmares my truth, my reality There I stayed Until time was no longer my master And if it was not for love...I would not have found the time To love again. © 2014 Poetic JusticeReviews
