Red or Dead

Red or Dead

A Poem by Poetic Justice
"

we are sending a probe to mars to see why it dried up costing billions of dollars while 40,000 people starve to death every day...its a mad mad world

"

He bent down towards her face,

‘It’s important we contribute to the race’,

smiled and took her bowl of rice

mumbling about it was a small price

to pay for such a noble mission

paid for under blind ambition

where malnutrition meets exploration

held in weightless aspiration

paid for in blood and tears

from reluctant volunteers

in offices oval and sometimes round

and bunkers build underground

decisions made with no concern

in the name of ‘we need to learn..’

while little ones are hardly fed

but not a tear for them is shed

still white suits and blue collars

sit down counting out their dollars

as red is entered with a probe

to see why waters left its globe

and while they ponder in the sky

the little girl will surely die

Poetic Justice
wasn't sure if this was going to work within a rhyming context and still not sure if it works but I wanted to write in rhyme again..

My love for exploration is dampened by this understanding; we all have sacrificed compassion in our quests for the unknown glory of tomorrow. Losing and distorting our perceptions of the present.

I do feel like we live in Nazi Germany some days. The powers that be might call it "survival of the fittest" but that would be like saying they have a heart. Truth is....we are being governed by those that have no hearts. They will steal from the hungry to accomplish their own agenda's. It's a sick sick world we live in...and I seriously see it getting worse before it gets better. With our school systems failing....we are doomed to repeat history all over again.

i guess that there must be those who just can't tolerate the anticipation of what's in store for us here on earth...perhaps this is an out-of-control death wish
