Red or DeadA Poem by Poetic Justicewe are sending a probe to mars to see why it dried up costing billions of dollars while 40,000 people starve to death every day...its a mad mad worldHe bent down towards her face, ‘It’s important we contribute to the race’, smiled and took her bowl of rice mumbling about it was a small price to pay for such a noble mission paid for under blind ambition where malnutrition meets exploration held in weightless aspiration paid for in blood and tears from reluctant volunteers in offices oval and sometimes round and bunkers build underground decisions made with no concern in the name of ‘we need to learn..’ while little ones are hardly fed but not a tear for them is shed still white suits and blue collars sit down counting out their dollars as red is entered with a probe to see why waters left its globe and while they ponder in the sky the little girl will surely die © 2013 Poetic Justice
