It wasn't you...A Poem by Poetic Justicelie to everyone else but never lie to yourself. As she
boarded the train, she turned and smiled And for a
moment all your fears dissipated Who said she
didn’t love you? An overzealous
mother, a jealous friend And what
measure was love? A missed
call, an interrupted liaison You knew
her, you knew what she meant When she told
you she wasn’t ready She still
loved you, She told you
so.. And that
smile, broke a thousand hearts But not
yours, you had her heart and she had yours You watched
the train pull out of the station Waited on
the platform for a last glance While she,
head down, texting And it wasn’t
you.... © 2013 Poetic JusticeReviews
