HUMDRUMA Poem by Poetic JusticeShe held her
breath in the faint hope That she
wouldn’t drown in the mediocre of her life The rain
beat against the window To the
humdrum, drum, drum of her existence She rested
her chin on her hand, Her elbow on
the window ledge, And her
heart on its laurels She sighed
so deeply But thought
so limply Today she
prayed that the hog in her head Would stop just
sniffing the ground and actually dig something up Hoping for
something Because all
she had was nothing And something
was better than nothing She sighed
once again And for a
moment life paused Only too
catch its self and play again Play again..she
smiled. © 2013 Poetic JusticeReviews
