The Battle cried MaryA Poem by Poetic JusticeBeleaguered dreams beset in the corners of
bestial reality Drained of compassionate thought and blinkered
to the truth She wept at the sight before her with a smudge
of kohl and sack cloth eyes As chaos chanted its baited chorus in unison
with the call of the night The dawn did not bring an end to the decadence
of the darkness Merely highlighting the emancipation of hell
upon the fruitless soil Mocking the agony of her already afflicted
heart While the battle cried Mary A call of tide whispered to her that not all
was lost Some prayed for the rays of rapture to once
again caress the war torn terrain Seditious minds brewed notions as their
convictions grew Lighting doctrine candles to illuminate the
beliefs of fractured hearts She washed their feet in reverence to the proclamation
of justice Her tears bringing hope to the fears of a
nation As the battle cried Mary Holding an armistice against her breast She strode towards the hellish breath that
punctured the air And stroked her intentions down its mane With gentle insistence she placed her memories
against it skin Blessing its hearts with joyous purpose Slowly it seized the righteous reasoning Lowering its head in anointed bliss And the Battle cried Mary © 2013 Poetic JusticeReviews
