The LineA Poem by Poetic JusticeWe crossed
the line Though invisible
to the naked eye It cuts
through conscience Like a hot
knife through butter I felt
myself melt Hot with guilt
and condemnation My defence
mechanism automatically kicked in Blame is
my trump card I see you
have a full house! I am flushed... Awash with
delusions I fall
face forward into another lustful encounter Brimming with
new found folly I draw the
line with a marker pen, black But you
lick your finger and smudge it Blurring the
lines between acceptable and reprehensible I begin
melting History is
on repeat You have
three of a kind That’s not my thing.. I see the
line in the distance and brace myself I stop
just before it and low and behold there is a pitfall Right over the line and this time I turn around and walk the other way Only to
bump into another obstacle playing cards in the middle of my path I have a full house... © 2012 Poetic JusticeReviews
