Never Have I EverA Poem by IntrovertedRebelThis is another piece I did for my school unit in poetry. Hopefully it can get across the dual relationship between love and wishing to die to attain that love.Aphrodite lies upon your shoulders Bowing my knees And pulling on my heart with strings
of steel Unbreakable by any army; Never have I ever wanted to die in battle
In your eyes blue oceans wave Ripping up my roots And dragging me out to your azure
waters, Crashing me against the jagged rocks
of infatuation; Never have I ever desired to drown
Your lips like Grecian art were
conceived By the ravishing red rose And bloodshed of men too weak to love
you; Never have I ever wished for a
poisonous kiss
Little brown freckles lay upon your
porcelain skin Like kisses from Apollo himself, For even he reveres your ancient
beauty; Never have I ever felt this sickening
lust
A galaxy of great golden suns Dance around your ageless guise, I get lost in the blanket of stars And the sea of mystery in each glowing
strand; Never have I ever wanted to age with
the moon.
I see your face every waking hour And marvel at it like the sun Burning my eyes through and through,
But alas, For no longer do your eyes meet mine; You’re as blind as the frame that
traps you, Able to exist only in the time and
space Granted to you by your father;
For this: Never have I ever wanted to take my
life -such as you did- And live in your world Forever able to witness Your undying visage © 2015 IntrovertedRebel |
