Thoughts on a thought

Thoughts on a thought

A Poem by PJ

Scarcely but a look, a fleeting glance had I,
Upon a face that drew my eye beyond
That moment of seeing,
Seeking to lie
In every living thought, such is beauty's bond.
Threading dreams of day through a dreaming night,
Pearls of purest white
That no oyster made.
Silent shell, yet whispering such delight,
With loves sweet wind, tempting to be played.
I took that shell
And cast it out to sea,
So receding tide take these thoughts from me.
Scarcely but a look, a fleeting glance behind,
When there, amidst
The rolling surf I see,
Gentle, bobbing shell, floating through my mind.
