Someone Else

Someone Else

A Poem by PJ

Someone's day will be someone else's night,
Someone's sun grows dull, someone else's bright,
Someone's dusk becomes someone else's dawn,
Someone shall die though someone else is born.
Someone's joy matched by someone else's despair,
Someone's pride restore, someone else's needs repair.
Someone's hunger unmatched by someone else's greed,
Someone's taken prisoner, someone else rarely freed.
Someone's bullet touches someone else's heart,
Someone's flag is raised, someone else's torn apart.
Someone's endless road, meets someone else's shortened path,
Everybody's Earth equated by our unequal half.
