A Requiem for Maria

A Requiem for Maria

A Poem by Rc R. Vagilidad

In a widowed translucence of the night

A moonless extravagance glimmers

Upon dreaded sounds, humming in my ears

Pirouette bluntly in a constellation

Toxic moths and fuming butterflies

Played in cadence with her sighs

She was never silenced

Whispered with the gushing storm

Dying within my earshot.

I played her the last tone

of my auspicious piece

That lingered her soul, beneath the ground....

Huh! And she was free.

My Maria...
