Near Light

Near Light

A Poem by Rc R. Vagilidad

"
The spotlight was on,
frozen at the center!

Of suppressed desires,
clinging on a pendulum,
 one ballet,
 one pirouette,
 one night
 one empty hall.

She stretched her untied shoes,
 tiptoeing,
 executing a riveting clock

The song on repeat,
a mystical piano piece of lonesome Adagio

Nothing seemed to stop her this time.

It's passed 8, and she began to fall on a vinyl flooring.
It glistened with fading tears, she stood, with aching and longing.

No one was there
but her soul and the scent of the desires in her veins,
 A battery,
 a swan,
 a giant leap,
 a coda,
and she heard their applause, in midair...

She then
collapsed gracefully,
 near light.
No one was there,
that night.
