“Far & Long”

I tried to join the circus

When the circus came to town

The freak show had no place for me

The lions chased me down

No bearded lady, man who's strong

This is no place where I belong

I tried to join the faeries

In their world beyond the Veil

I brought them many offerings

Alas to no avail

Their voices whispered long and far

You do not belong where we are

I tried to join the dead

In their kingdom under ground

But even the departed

They do not want me around

Tho I've looked far and I've looked long

There is no place where I belong
